Everyone likes granola bars, but so many have ambiguous or problem ingredients. These oat bars fill the same oaty, fruity, tummy-filling role, but you know exactly what's in them!

Everyone likes granola bars, but so many have ambiguous or problem ingredients. These oat bars fill the same oaty, fruity, tummy-filling role, but you know exactly what's in them!
Ingredients
  • 1 Cup Oat flour
  • 1.5 Cups old-fashioned oats (certified GF if needed)
  • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar (or other dry sweetener)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 Cup applesauce (unsweetened)
  • 1/4 Cup melted coconut oil
  • 1/4 Cup maple syrup
  • 1 apple peeled and diced (can sub pear or other crunchy fruit)
  • 1/2 Cup apple butter

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease baking dish.
  2. Combine oats, oat flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda in a bowl.
  3. Mix in applesauce, maple syrup, coconut oil and fruit.
  4. reserve 2/3 cup of this mixture, spreading the rest into your prepared baking dish. Top evenly with apple butter.
  5. Sprinkle the reserved oat mixture evenly on top, bake for 30 min.
