Ingredients
  • 3 TBSP Butter Substitute Earth Balance or Smart Balance are dairy and soy free
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies You can use Gluten free Rice Krispies to make the recipe gluten free
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips optional - use dairy-free chocolate chips if needed
  • - Red food coloring optional
  • - sprinkles optional

Instructions
  1. In a large pot, melt butter substitute on low heat. Stir in marshmallows until completely melted.
  2. Remove pot from heat. Stir in Rice Krispies until they are well coated.
  3. Grease a spatula using an allergy-free butter, shortening or spray. Use the spatula to spread the Rice Krispie mixture onto a greased 9 x 13 pan.
  4. When the mixture has cooled, use a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes (optional),
  5. Other optional ideas: Use red food coloring to make the Rice Krispie treats a pink or red color. Melt the chocolate chips and pour it over the treats. Also you can top with sprinkles if you wish.
